How to Find Remote Sales Jobs (SDR, AE, CSM)

A clear playbook for landing remote sales roles — SDR, account executive, customer success — including where to apply and how to pass remote sales interviews.

Remote sales hiring is brisk but unforgiving. Companies want reps who can self-manage, run a clean pipeline, and show measurable revenue impact.

1. Pick your track and segment

Sales roles split by stage and segment. Pick a clear lane.

Tracks:

  • SDR and BDR (top of funnel, outbound)
  • account executive (close revenue)
  • customer success and account management (expand revenue)
  • enterprise account executive (large deals)

Segments:

  • SMB, mid-market, or enterprise
  • vertical specialty (fintech, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.)

A clear track plus segment beats a generic "sales" resume.

2. Lead with quota and revenue numbers

Sales hiring is metric-driven. Resumes that win lead with:

  • "Hit 124 percent of quota for six consecutive quarters"
  • "Closed $2.4M ARR across 38 deals last fiscal year"
  • "Generated 220 SQLs per quarter from outbound"

Avoid vague phrases like "drove sales growth" or "managed accounts."

3. Build a sales-focused profile

Your LinkedIn and resume should look like a rep, not a marketer.

Include:

  • key segments and ACV ranges
  • your top win stories and the deal sizes
  • tools you use (Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, Apollo)
  • quota attainment for the last 3 to 6 quarters
  • any President's Club or top-rep awards

Hiring managers screen quickly. Numbers stand out.

4. Use the right channels

Where remote sales roles cluster:

  • We Work Remotely and Remote OK
  • BravadoHQ and RepVue for vetted sales roles
  • LinkedIn (target heads of sales directly)
  • direct careers pages of companies whose products you respect
  • specialist agencies for enterprise sales

Recruiters reach out heavily for sales roles. Make your LinkedIn easy to skim.

5. Tailor each application

For each role:

  • mention what they sell and to whom in one specific line
  • include the segment match (SMB, mid, enterprise) and ACV range you have closed
  • share one quick idea on how you would approach their pipeline

Specific, business-focused applications stand out fast.

6. Pass the interview rounds

Common rounds for remote sales roles:

  • recruiter screen on metrics and motivation
  • mock outreach or discovery call
  • mock demo or close
  • panel interview with hiring manager and team

For mock calls:

  • prepare one or two open questions to drive discovery
  • show clear listening, not just talking
  • close with a concrete next step

Hiring managers reject reps who do not ask for the next step.

7. Compensation ranges

Rough 2026 US ranges:

  • SDR or BDR: $50k to $75k base, $75k to $110k OTE
  • mid-market AE: $90k to $130k base, $180k to $260k OTE
  • enterprise AE: $130k to $180k base, $260k to $400k OTE
  • CSM: $80k to $130k base, $110k to $180k OTE

OTE varies wildly. Ask for the on-target structure and ramp plan, not just base.

8. Long-term remote sales career growth

Strong remote reps often move into:

  • senior AE and enterprise roles
  • sales management and ops
  • head of revenue or RevOps roles
  • founder-led startups as first sales hires

Track which deals you close and why. That story is your case study.

Weekly plan

  • Monday: shortlist 15 high-fit roles
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 4 tailored applications per day, plus warm reach-outs
  • Friday: review pipeline and refresh metrics

Remote sales rewards consistency. Tight numbers, clear specialty, and steady outreach win.
